Telesat's extensive offerings extend to telecommunications carriers and network services integrators, providing both satellite capacity and end-to-end solutions. These encompass space segment services and ground facilities designed to support enterprise connectivity, internet and cellular backhaul, and rural telephony initiatives. The company further delivers broadband communication services tailored for the maritime and aeronautical industries, serving commercial aircraft and vessels. It also supplies satellite services to government entities, including the U.S. government (via service integrators) and the Canadian government, and directly provides broadband services to consumers. The corporation operates sophisticated satellite and hybrid satellite/terrestrial networks, and it develops specialized communication services for industries such as oil and gas, and mining. Furthermore, Telesat provides expert satellite operator services and offers consulting across a range of domains, including space and earth segments, government studies, satellite control, and research and development. Telesat primarily engages its clients through a dedicated direct sales force. As of December 31, 2021, its operational assets included a constellation of 14 in-orbit geostationary satellites and a Canadian payload integrated into the ViaSat-1 satellite. The company was established in 1969 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Ottawa, Canada.
