Designed as an integrated cloud ecosystem, the platform unifies critical functions like a unified omnichannel customer experience, a comprehensive suite of back-office management tools that enhance efficiency and deliver actionable insights, and integrated payment facilitation. Its robust capabilities span a full spectrum of omnichannel features, point-of-sale (POS) systems, detailed product and menu management, employee and inventory control, advanced analytics and reporting, multi-location connectivity, functionality for order-ahead and curbside pickup, as well as integrated loyalty and customer relationship management solutions. Founded in 2005 and based in Montréal, Canada, the company was formerly known as Lightspeed POS Inc. before officially changing its name to Lightspeed Commerce Inc. in August 2021.
